Imagineer Day is back!
Chico Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is excited to host our Eighth annual STEM education outreach event, Imagineer Day, for the children in and around the Chico community!
This one-day event, hosted on April 10th, 2021 Virtually via Zoom, will provide 100 children, Kindergarten through 6th Grade, an opportunity to engage in hands-on lab experiments that demonstrate basic engineering concepts in its multiple disciplines. Each participant will engage in 3 different lab experiments based on grade level. Come experience what it's like to be an engineer for a day by participating in experiments that explore Computer Science and Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Electrical, Biomedical and Aerospace Engineering!
Tickets cost $6.65 ($5.00 + fee) which provides each participant with lab materials shipped directly to you, and a bunch of engineering activities! A unique "Imagineer Day 2021" t-shirt, goodie-bag, and an "Imagineer" certificate of participation are our gifts to you.

What is Imagineer Day?
Imagineer Day is Chico State SWE's annual K-8 STEM outreach event. Every year, we bring together 200+ local students together to participate in multiple hands-on engineering labs that demonstrate basic engineering concepts. Students have the opportunity to experience fun, hands-on engineering activities, while learning how and why the things work the way they do. Why do we do it? The goal of Imagineer Day is to get young girls and boys interested in the engineering field. During the event, we not only discuss engineering as a subject of study and career path, but we also encourage the students to think about their own future in engineering! We aim to show the participants that STEM subjects can be fun, exciting, and more hands-on than just reading from a textbook. |

How to help?
For the Imagineer Day to happen, companies and associates such as Chevron, Sierra Pacific Industries, and alumni donate for this event to prosper to help young students to seek their interest in engineering.
